ISOLASI DAN UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIMIKROBA JAMUR LINGKUNGAN LAUT DARI TUMBUHAN BAKAU (Rizophora spp.)

Mangroves plant (Rhizophora sp.) are widespread in the tropics. These plants are found in coastal areas and marshes. Indonesia as a tropical country with the longest coastline in the world, has the potential for mangrove cultivation. Mangrove plant has many uses in traditional medicineand has long...

Mangrove plant has many uses in traditional medicineand has long been used as an antibacterial and antifungal. Mangroves plant obtained from Menipo Coastal Conservation Areas in Kupang regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Parts of the plant was taken include the roots, stems, leaves, and fruit. Isolation of fungi from the sample using medium yeast extract, peptone, and dextrose (YPD) with composition 5: 5: 10 in artificial sea water. The pure isolate was fermented in YPD broth medium for 21 days on a shaker at 150 rpm. Culture broth and mycelium were separated by filtration. Medium was extracted by liquid-liquid extraction and mycelium was extracted by maceration method using ethyl acetate. Extract were concentrated using rotary evaporator and tested for their antimicrobial activity against E. coli, B. subtilis, and C. albicans by disk diffusion method. Extract which showed clear inhibition zones were determined their minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) by using microdilution method. Six different types of fungi were isolated from the mangroves plant. The sixth of fungus distinguished by observing the morphology of the mycelium forms and colors. All isolated had antimicrobial activity against E. coli and B. subtilis but did non antifungal activity. The best antibacterial activity had been given by LLE extract of MN5 culture broth with the MIC value was 256 µg/mL againts E. coli. text
