However, that information is not enough to describe the product as a whole. More information is needed to describe how the components of the product are arranged to become the finished product and to determine the best sequence to assemble the product. This research is dealing with the planning of assembly sequence based on the exploded-view drawing of the product. The sequence is determined by using the nearest neighbourhood principles of the components, of which in assembly it is called mating component. The exploded view representation makes the sequencing process faster than graph representation that is much used today. Then, the sequence produced is used to determine the product structure that is going to be used as an input to BOM (Bill of Material) and production planning. text |
