STUDI PENGARUH PENGETAHUAN PASIEN TENTANG DISLIPIDEMIA DAN OBAT ANTIDISLIPIDEMIA TERHADAP HASIL TERAPI DAN PENGELOLAAN DISLIPIDEMIA

Dyslipidemia is a lipid metabolic syndrome characterized by an increase or decrease of lipid fractions in plasma which is called ‘triad lipid’. The major symptoms of lipid fraction abnormalities are marked by the increase of total cholesterol (>240 mg/dL), LDL cholesterol (>160 mg/dL), and...

The major symptoms of lipid fraction abnormalities are marked by the increase of total cholesterol (>240 mg/dL), LDL cholesterol (>160 mg/dL), and triglyceride level (>200 mg/dL), and also marked by the decrease of HDL cholesterol level (<40 mg/dL). Dyslipidemia is a chronic disease with high prevalence. In Indonesia, the prevalence of dyslipidemia increased by over time. One of the obstacles in the management of dyslipidemia is due to patient’s low health literacy. Determination of the relationship between health literacy status of patients with the outcome of dyslipdemia therapies is an attempt to determine an appropriate intervention methods to improve health literacy of patients. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. Data were obtained through direct interviews with patients and patient’s medical records. Subsequently the data was collected and analyzed using chi-square of bivariat analysis. The results showed that the health literacy status of dyslipidemia of patient have a statistically significant association with the levels of triad lipid in plasma, i.e. levels of total cholesterol (p<0.001), HDL cholesterol (p<0.001), and LDL cholesterol levels (p<0.001). The patients’health literacy status of antidyslipidemia drug have a statistically significant association with the levels of triad lipid in plasma, i.e. levels of total cholesterol (p<0.001), HDL cholesterol (p=0.002), LDL cholesterol (p<0.001), and triglycerides (p=0.010). text
