INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/45547 Recently, numbers of low-cost scattering particulate mattter (PM) sensors are available on the market. This low-cost portable sensor can be used to measure PM concentrations with high spatial and temporal resolution. This study evaluates the performance of one of the low-cost PM sensors, Sensirion SPS30, against reference instruments that have been very well characterized. There are several things that are tested on this PM sensor, namely repeatability, the effect of flow, particle size, and particle type, calibration of the number concentration and mas concentration, and the limit of detection (LOD). This test was done by aerosol concentration decay method, which were has known of the size distribution, including incense smoke, NaCl, and PSL. The results of this test provide excellent repeatability by giving coefficient of variation values below 10% according to EPA recommendations. Some things that need to be considered in the use of this sensor are still dependent on the size and type of particles, with a limit of detection around 340 nm. text
