Description
Summary:Musi River is a river that stretches long in the South Sumatra around 750 KM. Musi River is important for the people who live around the Musi River. The function of Musi river are water transportation, water supply, flood control, hydroelectric power (PLTA), and several other functions. The Phenomena of Musi River are examples of phenomena related to physics principles. The main principles of physics related to the Musi River phenomenon are hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, and energy conservation. At present, there are still many people who don't know the relationship between the phenomena in the Musi River with physics. So, the authors initiatives to develop papers that aimed to explain the physical concepts of the phenomena in the Musi River and compile contextual physics teaching materials from the Musi River. Excepted with this papers, students can understand the physical concepts of the Musi River phenomenon that surrounds them. In addition, students are expected to understand the use, preservation and maintenance of the Musi River so that the Musi River can still be used by the next generation and South Sumatra spared flooding. The research through field study and literature study methods. The research results is contextual physics teaching materials that can be used in learning in senior high school or college.
