SHARIA FINANCIAL PLANNING SYSTEM WORKFLOW DEVELOPMENT (CASE STUDY OF INDONESIA FINANCIAL PLANNING MOBILE ENGINE)

PT. JUAI is a startup company that developing mobile engine for financial planning as their core business. They are the sole technology development company who has financial planning mobile engine that standardized in some certain level of financial planning in Indonesia. The standardization is called AWP (Associated Wealth Planner) which issued and approved by FPSB (Financial Planning Standard Board) Indonesia. Beside their core business, they also held seminar and workshop to introduce their product along with the financial planning to the public in order to increase the financial literacy index in Indonesia. Recently there are so many feedback requesting for creating the sharia version of their existing engine which called IFPE (Indonesia Financial Planning Engine). After several consideration including to increase financial literacy index in sharia sector, PT. JUAI decide to develop it. This research conducted to assist the development of the sharia IFPE. This research conceptual framework use the concept of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) that modified to be in line with the business issue. The concept of financial planning and sharia are main concept that used in this research. The tool that used for developing the system workflow is flow chart. Before fully understand the business issue in this research, the external analysis and internal analysis are conducted. The external analysis use STEEPLED (Socio-cultural, Technology, Economy, Environment, Political, Legal, Ethical, and Demographic) which is the latest modification from PESTEL analysis. The internal analysis is the process inspecting, documenting, and creating the existing engine into the form of system workflow. Based on all of that analysis, the proposed system workflow need to be created to ellaborate sharia concept and also improve from system perspective of view. Before creating the proposed workflow the development plan need to be created. Based on that development plan the features of proposed workflow are sharia personal budget planning, sharia life insurance planning, sharia preservation funds planning, sharia children education funds planning, sharia mortgage planning, hajj pilgrimage planning, and sharia personal financial statement. Beside creating the whole system workflow of all of those features from sharia and financial planning perspective of view, system comparison also needed to improve the existing engine from system perspective of view. After all of system workflow finished, system testing conducted in order to make sure that all of the equations used are functioned properly. The system testing use spreadsheet simulation that created to be as close to the real interface later after the implementation plan. The result of this research is proposed system workflow of sharia IFPE. It is the improvement of existing engine that ellaborated with sharia concept in it. The proposed system workflow also improved the efficiency of the system. The finished product later expected to be identical with the simulation result. In the implementation plan, the explanation of algorithm is needed to minimize the misconception of adapting the system workflow into programming languange.
