Description
Summary:Co-crystallization of glimepiride (GMP) with oxalic acid (AO) and isonicotinamide (INA) had been done carried out grinding and solvent evaporation (acetone as a solvent) methods. Phase diagram of the binary system of GMP-AO and GMP-INA is used for initial identification of interaction between the two component as well as reaffirmed by microscopic analysis using a heater (hot stage) are associated with a polarization microscope. The solid phase was characterized by thermal analysis method (Differential Scanning Calorymetry), powder X-Ray diffractometry (Powder X-Ray Diffraction), infrared spectroscopy (Fourier Transform-Infra Red) and microscopy ((Scanning Electron Microscope). Solid state interaction between GMP-AO and GMP-INA at a molar ratio (3:7) show a eutectic interaction at eutectical point each 130,7°C and 148,7°C. Next, Test of solubility and dissolution rate using phosphate buffer pH 7,4 as a medium. Solubility and dissolution rate of cocrystallization product of GMP increase compared to physical mixture and its single compounds.
