EFFECT OF THICKNESS AND ORIENTATION DISTRIBUTION OF NANO FIBER FILTER MEMBRANES ON ITS PERFORMANCE AS AN AIR FILTER

Electrospinning is a simple and attractive approach to the manufacture or spinning of fibers with high porosity and fiber diameter at the nanometer scale so that it is well used in research on filter development. The filter solutions that can be used are so diverse that a variety of nanofiber fil...

The filter solutions that can be used are so diverse that a variety of nanofiber filters are produced and can be used for various types of filtration. In this study, the effect of thickness and orientation distribution of the nanofiber filter membrane will be examined as an air filter. To achieve this goal, the spinning time and electrospinning speed of the drum collector are used using voltage variations of 8.7, 9.5, and 10.8 Volts to produce 234, 198, 162, and 150 rpm respectively. Filters produced from the electrospinning technique will go through several tests. Tests carried out are by measuring thickness, pressure drop test, and efficiency test. The results shown in this study will be obtained from the physical discussion of the form of comparison of morphological parameters, fiber thickness distribution, efficiency and coefficient of variation. The coefficient of variation representing the morphological distribution of the rotational rates with different rpm 168, 192 and 234 rpm shows values of 0.586, 0.395, 0.343, respectively, even with the same spinning time parameters. text
