These compounds also yealded from chloroform extract together with ?-sitosterol and wax; whereas the ethyl acetate extract yielded two phenolic (flavan-3-ol) compunds, namely catechin and afzelechin. The structure of these compounds have been elucidated based on spectroscopic data such as ultraviolet, infrared, mass spectrometry, <sup>1</sup>H NMR, <sup>13</sup>C NMR and are compared with anthentic standard. text
