Description
Summary:Background and purpose : Honey bee is the insects whose producing honey. This product is produced from nectar that processed by honey bees as a food reserve for the honey bee colony . The chemical composition of honey makes this natural product has many benefits . One of them is a benefit to increase stamina. In human activity, stamina needed for activity. Decreased stamina then be correlated with decreasing activity . Fatigue effects on the activity of a sign that a decline in stamina . Fatigue may also occur due to the biochemical conditions in the body that would be increase. One is the increase in lactic acid as a result of the activity of anaerobic metabolites . Anti- fatigue testing is done by measuring the effect of anti exhausted physically and biochemistry of the animal model in mice and humans. This study aimed to see differences in anti-fatigue effect of three honey bee species developed in Indonesia , the honeybee Apis mellifera, Apis cerana and Trigona sp . Methods : The study began with the observation and selection of sampling locations, followed by the determination of honey bee species of honey and the honey produced . Furthermore, the honey is used in anti- fatigue study with oral administration and continued on observations with the blood biochemical parameters such as blood glucose, lactic acid, and glycogen in muscle and liver. Results : Three types of honey with the administered dose of 208 mg/20 g body weight of mice and doses of 80 g for administration to humans, have the ability to increase physical activity is characterized by the measurement time. Test material can also improve the energy reserves of glycogen in the liver and muscle tissue in mice. Test material also gives effect to the formation of lactic acid in the blood . Conclusion : That the three types of honey can give the effect of anti-fatigue activity in mice and human
