Cucurbitaceae is a source of natural antioxidants that abundant in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to test the antioxidant capacities of leaves extracts of cucumber (CS), chayote (SE), sponge gourd (LA), pumpkin (CM), bitter melon (MC) using FRAP and DPPH methods and their correlation with total phenol, total flavonoids and carotenoids. Methods: Extraction by Soxhlet using three different polarities solvents (n-hexane, ethyl acetate, ethanol), so there are CS1, SE1, LA1, CM1, MC1 nhexane extracts; CS2, SE2, LA2, CM2, MC2 ethyl acetate extracts and CS3, SE3, LA3, CM3, MC3 ethanolic extracts. Each extracts was observed by thin-layer chromatography (TLC), antioxidant capacity by FRAP, DPPH methods, EC50 of FRAP capacity and IC50 DPPH scavenging activity, determination of total phenol, total flavonoids, total carotenoids and their correlation with FRAP and DPPH capacity. Results: SE2 (ethyl acetat extract of chayote leaves) had lowest EC50 FRAP capacity (759 ppm). LA3 (ethanolic extract of sponge gourd leaves) had lowest IC50 DPPH scavenging activity (73 ppm). SE2 contained the highest total phenolic (4.01 g GAE/100 g), MC1 (n-hexane extract of bitter melon leaves) had highest flavonoid content (14.37 g QE/100 g) and highest carotenoid (19.53 g BET/100 g). Total phenol of SE had positively high correlation with FRAP and DPPH. Conclusion: FRAP capacity of SE leaves extract linier with DPPH scavenging activity. FRAP capacity and DPPH scavenging activity of SE leaves extract can be estimated indirectly by total phenol. Phenolic compounds in chayote leaves were the major contributor in FRAP capacity and DPPH scavenging activity text
