There are two types of characterization that are commonly used to measure the performance of solar cells, namely stationary and nonstationary characterization. One example of non-stationary characterization is Intensity Modulater Photovoltage Spectroscopy (IMVS). In this thesis an IMVS characterization system has been developed to study the mechanism of electron transfer in DSSC and PSC. The characterization system uses instruments including Lock-In Amplifier, power amplifier, oscilloscope, LED light and the LabVIEW program is used for data acquisition. The frequency measured is in the range of 1Hz-100kHz. From the measurement results obtained characteristics of the electron transfer in DSSS and PSC relating to surface states on ZnO and dye interface on DSSC, and TiO2 and perovskite interface on PSC. text
