The measurement results optical reflectivity which has anisotropic response with significant absorption, and hence broadened the sharp plasma edge feature. The optical reflectivity of this system could modelled by using a single Drude term which has large scattering rate of Drude term, therefore causes the ????1=0 not coincide with the maximum of the loss function. Those distinct profile of the complex dielectric function and loss function indicates the absorption of electromagnetic wave which excite the unconventional plasmons where arises from the oscillation of quasiparticles. Those quasiparticles are formed by correlated electrons due to the Coulomb interaction. The plasmon in this system is different compare to the others correlated metals, e.g. La2-xSrxCuO4 dan V2O3, which excite conventional plasmon as well as other compounds that excite unconventional plasmons such as Sr1-xTi1-yO3+?, Eu0.30Ba0.70Ti1-xNbx03, and EuTi1-xNbxO3 regarding their insulating character. The plasma frequency of this system lies in the UV spectrum with low-loss energy feature, and hence becomes a good platform for biomedical and information technology application. text |
