Ecotourism is closely related to conservation. Therefore, ecotourism is precise for maintaining the authenticity of ecosystem in areas which are still natural as in National Park. One of National Parks that is potentially developed as an ecotourism is Taman Nasional Way Kambas (TNWK) Lampung. The star of TNWK is the animal in it, including Gajah Sumatra. The visitors are allowed to ride the elephants and see attractions. However, this has been a controversy since a long time because elephants' back are not designed for riding. It can make elephants feel uncomfortable, stress, even cause broken back. The aim of this research is to find alternative development of tours with ecotourism principles. This research uses collective data method and technique which is literature study, as in collecting data in journal, article, e-book which discuss the importance of ecotourism, the potencial development of TNWK, the appropiate treatment of elephants (animal right), etc. Field observation in TNWK is also done as well as interviewing with the manager of TNWK and having a talk with academese in ecotourism and animal right, especially elephant's right. The result of the research shows that visitors would have been interested if there was a program that can increase visitor's satisfaction. To attract young visitors, technology is required. Augmented Reality is a technology that suits for visitors. To create a fun tour without damaging environment as well as be educative, a device with Augment Reality technology is suitable to be developed. text |
