Description
Summary:Indonesia is the country with the largest eagle species in the world. Quoted from information at the Kamojang Eagle Conservation Center (PKEK), there are 80 species of eagles in Indonesia from 312 species of eagles in the world put forward by Ferguson and Christie in the Raptors of the World. Nevertheless, the number of eagles in the world continues to decline, including eagles in Indonesia. The causes of the decline in eagle population include illegal hunting, habitat loss, illegal wildlife trade, illegal falconry activities and lack of knowledge about eagles. Various efforts to preserve the eagle have been carried out, such as the existence of conservation and rehabilitation institutions for eagles, monitoring, campaigning and education in formal institutions. However, these efforts have not fully made the public aware of the importance of preserving eagles in nature. This study aims to provide education about wings on eagles and pigeons to children. Education about bird wings has inspired many people to produce flight technologies such as planes, hanggliders and wingsuit. The method used in this research is literature and field study methods. The results of this study are the children know the differences in eagles and pigeons anatomy, aerodynamics, and how to fly. The information obtained about wing education, children are expected to be inspired and appreciate birds, especially the eagles that are in the environment around them.
