This museum also facilitates commercial activities of local fashion brands that produces ikat-based products. This project represents ikat physically and philosophically. Physically, the massings are interweaved and interconnected. The facades also sports ikat pattern. Philosophically, the relations between each rooms are also interweaved and interconnected. These things are taken from ikat’s basic construction, which are warp and weft threads. With a variety of users, activities, and functions, clarity of circulation becomes an issue. Each functions are zoned according to each function and user’s need of privacy. This project is located in Kemang, at Kemang Raya Street No, 13 to be exact. The site is a corner site, so it has access to two streets. The building is erected on a 3780sqm site. The building area itself is 3904sqm. With an area that is relatively not big, outdoor spaces are used to house public activities. This is vital to bring positive impacts to the already crowded Kemang so that this building can also function as an urban oasis to the surrounding environment.
