Summary:<b></i>Abstract :</b><i><p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The use of groundwater for irrigation should be managed effectively and efficiently to optimize the use of limited water resources, the considered factors are plant water demand, the optimum usage of water within the safety debit, the planted area and the economical aspects of crops. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The research was conducted in the Salamjaya Village, Pabuaran District, Subang Regency, West Jawa, during the period of September 1996 to March 1997. The research used secondary data (precipitation, climatology pumping test, hydrogeology and agriculture), observation in field (percolation has been observed using Lysimeter and the plantation pattern in that area) and soil which are analysed in laboratory. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The optimum debit on pump capacity and drawdown of well number TW 66 are 13,0 It/sec and 8,9 m respectively, whereas observation in the field indicates that water percolation value is 2,45 mm/day. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The measuring of water requirement of plantation that is analysed for the Paddy and Palawija (corn, soybean, peanut, and watermelon). <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The lowest demand of water for the paddyfield is 1,42 It/sec/ha during January. For areas which are planted by corns, soybeans and peanuts the lowest demand of water are 0, 0,14 and 0,3 It/sec/ha (December), and the water melons is 0,02 It/sec/ha . <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The highest demand of water for paddyfield is 2,15 It/sec/ha in the November. For areas planted by corns and soybeans : 0,97, 0,93 It/sec/ha (August), peanuts : 0,8 It/sec/ha (May, June and July) and water melons : 0,87 It/sec/ha (August) <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> For the optimizing purpuses, the plantation pattern has been considered in the beginning of plantation within the first and second middle of the months of November, December and January. Program /Endo is applied to provide analysed data of optimizing with the limit factors : the planted areas , the safety debit of groundwater and profit that can be reached by an agricultural sector. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> By using plantation pattern of Paddy-Paddy-Palawija and Paddy-Palawija-Palawija, the optimizing data indicate that the highest total profits in a cycle time of plantation (one year) are 62.2 and 63.3 million rupiah/11,26 ha respectively, which is occurred in the beginning of plantation of November. The lowest profits of those patterns, that is occurred in November, are 60,9 and 61,9 million rupiah/11,26 ha respectively. <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> Suggestion is directed toward further monitoring on the condition of well number TW 66, increasing the use of groundwater by increasing exploitation of the potential areas, and developing varieties of plants having high economic potential. <br /> <br />
