Summary: | One of the main factors that is often be the center of expenditure by a company is the purchase of materials. About 60-80% of work in all construction projects is carried out for the purchase of materials and services from suppliers and subcontractors. Kraljic (1983) states that the contribution of purchase cost is 40-80% of the company's total costs, so that the wrong supplier will be detrimental to a company. According to Irfanto (2018), there are strategic commodities in building projects undertaken by contractors with small qualifications in Greater Bandung including bricks, cement, readymix concrete, steel reinforcement, glass, and sand. The strategic commodity influences 49.78% of the purchase of construction materials and 31.06% of the total construction costs. In this research, a study will be conducted on the supply chain structure (network structure, network dimension structure, and type of chain) and the behavior of the supply chain parties. Primary data collection is done by direct interview method based on a questionnaire for contractors and the suppliers of strategic commodities. Data processing is performed using simple statistics by calculating the TCR value for each variable. This research uses descriptive analysis method and then comparative analysis based on structural data and behavior of supply chain parties. The results obtained that the supply chain structure for sand, cement, brick, and concrete has 4 tiers. Reinforcing steel, wood, and glass have 5 tiers. Supply chain behavior such as buying mechanisms and methods of payment have different results between each strategic commodity. This is affected by the influence of supply chain parties involved and the nature of the commodity. |
