Summary:Waste problem especially plastic waste is one of the biggest problem that we are facing lately. The huge amount of plastic waste especially LDPE can be found everywhere easily, one of which is at Fishing Port of Kejawanan, Cirebon. One of the businessman from the fishing industry produce approximately 2200 plastic bag waste measuring 45 cm x 80 cm with a weight of about 40 grams per month, but unfortunately there is no plastic bag utilization yet, whereas there is a large number of similar businesses that also produce waste with no less than the amount of the informant has. Based on this background, this study aims to obtain the right attempt to overcome the LDPE plastic waste produced by the squid businessman in Cirebon. After collecting data by finding some references through literature study, field survey, and then data processing, it can be concluded that plastic bag upcycling as a backpack substitute by craftsmanship is needed. The data collected then used as a reference in making design concept and backpack designing. Once the design is selected, the process continues to the stage of making the backpack prototype.
