Summary: | Waste problem especially plastic waste is one of the biggest problem that we are
facing lately. The huge amount of plastic waste especially LDPE can be found
everywhere easily, one of which is at Fishing Port of Kejawanan, Cirebon. One of
the businessman from the fishing industry produce approximately 2200 plastic
bag waste measuring 45 cm x 80 cm with a weight of about 40 grams per month,
but unfortunately there is no plastic bag utilization yet, whereas there is a large
number of similar businesses that also produce waste with no less than the
amount of the informant has. Based on this background, this study aims to obtain
the right attempt to overcome the LDPE plastic waste produced by the squid
businessman in Cirebon. After collecting data by finding some references through
literature study, field survey, and then data processing, it can be concluded that
plastic bag upcycling as a backpack substitute by craftsmanship is needed. The
data collected then used as a reference in making design concept and backpack
designing. Once the design is selected, the process continues to the stage of
making the backpack prototype. |
