Description
Summary:In building a comfortable place to live there are several important aspects that need attention, one of which is the air circulation in the house. Limited land in urban areas makes the existence of a backyard in a house that should function to facilitate the circulation of air to switch to other functional spaces. The development of exhaust fanbased devices that can be controlled using a smartphone and display air quality information in the surrounding environment is expected to help resolve the problem. In this device there are several systems that include fan systems, communication systems, sensor systems, power supply systems and user interfaces to display air quality information and control the exhaust fan. This article specifically discusses the development systems that use exhaust fan and airflow simulations on designed systems. The fan system functions to regulate when the exhaust fan turning off and turning on, and control the exhaust fan's speed. The exhaust fan speed can be set manually by the user or can be controlled automatically. In automatic mode the fan will turn on and turn off according to the air condition in the surrounding environment. The test results show that the fan system can control the exhaust fan in three speed modes namely low, medium, and high speed. Exhaust fan capacity used is 480 CMH. Noise produced by the exhaust fan is still below 55 dB. Air flow simulations also show that a system designed using an exhaust fan can accelerate air circulation.
