Summary: | One of the assessments of student learning outcomes used in Indonesia is the
National Examination with regular and simultaneous implementation every year.
The national examination function is not only to measure the results of teaching
and learning at schools but also to show education equity in Indonesia. Based on
the 2013 curriculum, students are required to be able to think at a high level
through learning process at schools, especially in Mathematics. Therefore,
national examination as a measure of students' cognitive abilities must be able to
test students' high-level thinking skills. The revised Bloom’s Taxonomy theory,
has some level of thinking for students based on the difficulty level of the test
items namely C-1 Remembering, C-2 Understanding, C-3 Applying, C-4
Analyzing, C-5 Evaluating and C-6 Creating. There are six cognitive levels as the
difficulty level in a test. This study aims to classify the distribution of the National
Examination items for SMP / MTs in 2016-2019 based on Bloom's taxonomic
theory, revised by Anderson &Kartwohl (2001).
The findings of the study were drawn as follows: There were three kinds of
Mathematics national examination items analyzed, they were P1 code, P2 code,
P3 code taken from Mathematics national examination items given each year
(2016-2019) to the students in Indonesia. In the classified National Examination
test item, there are no test items which can be classified as C-4, C-5 and C-6 as the
high level thingking skills. It can be concluded that the mathematics national
Examination for SMP / MTs are dominated by questions which use procedures in
solving problems and classified as C-3 Applying. The results obtained from the
classification of the National Examination items in 2016-2019 are dominated by
the level thinking of C-3, applying about 80% -95%.
