Description
Summary:Successful game development requires professional multidisciplinary experts with high workload, game developer can experience failure in developing games if the game development process is not well managed, especially among beginner developers. The phenomenon of game production failure that occurs in Indonesian and international game developers, this is due to lack of knowledge and experience in the game production management process. The game production management process is a complex thing, so we need a media that can convey the game production management process more fun so it is easy to understand. This design aims to provide experience and education aspects of game production management to beginner developers through simulation games. This design method uses descriptive qualitative with design thinking framework. The main theories used include simulation games, studio game management and first principles of instruction as approaches to players and the basis for game design. From the results of data retrieval, problems and solutions in the aspects of game production management were identified. The main problems identified in the beginner developer include managing time, tasks and workflows in the game studio, where these aspects will be the test variables to the target audience. The solution to these problems is the agile framework method, which is simulated into mechanical and dynamic design of simulation games. The test results show that simulation games can provide effective experience and education in the aspects of game production management to beginner developers, which is achieved through mechanical and dynamic interactivity in the game with players.
