In this research, the business issue will be identified to gather information of the problem in order to find the solution. Fishbone diagram analysis will be used to find the root cause. The root cause are PT KAI only accept partnership with big company, a messy warehouse, and the field staff were not trained enough. To prepare the e-commerce partner, PT KAI should prepared the strategic formulation by using Discrete Event Simulation. The simulations conducted on a new business model where new customers can send the parcel directly to PT KAI. In the simulation that was done by using AnyLogic software version 8.5.1 in both experiments, there was an increase in the volume of 185,420 (experiment 1) and 187,610 (experiment 2) and company revenue, with total Rp. 183,230,000,000 (Experiment 1) and Rp. 186,515,000,000 (experiment 2) which exceeded the transportation volume target in 2018 of 121,800 tons with the revenue target of ONS parcel transportation in the previous year of Rp. 88,087,500,000. The conclusion and recommendation is PT KAI should shorten the serving time in counter, setting the SOP and socialization to the staff field and new partners. This business model will be implemented by considering the company's long-term plan (RJPP) from 2020 to 2024 to achieve the company's target volume and revenue. text |
