Description
Summary:Based on data from Badan Pusat Statistik, KRL Jabodetabek train users increase dramatically from 2006 with 104.4 million passengers to 315.9 million passengers in 2017. The main factor was caused by PT KAI fixing the Indonesian railroad transportation system significantly in 2009. The impact of these improvements is also affected the Rangkasbitung Station. Since April 2017, Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung Line, which had previously not been operated, was operated again. Users of train services at the Rangkasbitung station also increase significantly by up to 50%. As a large class C station, Rangkasbitung train station is considered not yet able to meet current needs. Therefore, it is necessary to arrange and develop stations by following Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 48 of 2015 about Minimum Service Standards for People Transportation by Railroad. This final project consists of restoration the old Rangkasbitung station and design a new Rangkasbitung station building. In the old station building there are cultural heritage buildings that need to be considered, while in new buildings consider connectivity between the old Rangkasbitung train station and the new Rangkasbitung train station. This project is in accordance with the PT KAI master plan covering an area of ± 1.8ha of the total development area of ± 12ha. In this development process there are 3 major issues which are design considerations, the issue of mobility, integration and visual appearance of the building. Based on them, one concept was chosen is a node. Thus, it is expected that this building can also be a differentiator rather than other buildings around it. In the future, Rangkasbitung Station will become a Transit Oriented Developement (TOD) area. The station can also be a node of city movement.
