Many people play this sport for leisure or for achievement. This study aimed to compare the characteristics of physiology, heart rate, blood lactate levels, the number of steps, energy expenditure, %-fat and weight changes for professional and amateur futsal players in two consecutive matches. Method : A total of eight professional futsal players (22.50±0.25 years, 61.90±1.66 kg, 171±6.14 cm, 13.81±2.92 % fat mass) who comes from a futsal team in Indonesia with mean playing experiences 3 years and eight amateur futsal players (23.75±0.71 years, 67.57 ± 3.16 kg, 170 ± 4.30 cm, 19.80±5.18 % fat mass) who comes from an amateur team in Bandung participated in the study. Each team playing twice in two days. Collection of anthropometric data and VO2 max (off match), heart rate monitoring, blood lactate levels, the number of steps, energy expenditure, body weight and % fat mass (during match). VO2 max measurement using bleep test. Heart rate and energy expenditure monitoring using polar RC3 GPS. The number of steps using a step pedometer. Blood lactate levels using an accutrend plus portable. Body weight and % fat mass using digital scales omron karada body scan. Results : The results were obtained an average VO2 max professional and amateur team 53.96±4.25 vs 43.90±5.48 ml /kg/min respectively were significantly different (p<0.01). Mean heart rate of professional and amateur team 166±5 vs 174±10 bpm (p<0.05), the blood lactate level after the game 6.30±2.60 vs 10.10±1.90 mmol/L (p<0.05), the number of steps 3620±579,77 vs 2864±494,64 times (p<0.05), energy expenditure 505±66.69 vs 578±81.89 kcal (p<0.05), the percentage change in body fat and weight respectively 0.71 vs 1.37% (p>0.05) and 0.40 vs 0.44 kg (p> 0.05). Conclusions : Physical fitness professional team is higher than the amateur team. The activity of the futsal match for the amateur team more heavier than professional team, impact on higher fatigue is also experienced by amateur team. Distance covered professional team higher than the amateur team, but the energy expenditure of amateur team were larger than the professional team. There is decrease on percentage of fat and body mass after match for both teams. text
