One indicator of a person's fitness are cardiorespiratory fitness which can be assessed by a number of VO2max, the better VO2max of a person, the more physical activity is able to do. Body mass index and body fat percentage as an indicator of a person's body composition are included in the poor category, normal or obese, due to abnormal body composition will give the risk of infected by various diseases. This study aims to determine the sports that are popular, like zumba and belly dance, and how big the influence on VO2max, body mass index and body fat percentage. Method: 14 S Fitness Center Bandung women members were divided into 7 zumba groups and 7 belly dance groups. Samples conduct initial tests and final tests with Cooper VO2max test 2,4km, body mass index and body fat percentage by Karada Body Fat Omron HBF - 35, also known as Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). All samples workout 3 times a week for 12 consecutive weeks. Results: The results of statistical analysis showed that zumba and belly dance significantly affect VO2max (p < 0.05). Then zumba and belly dance significantly affect body mass index (p < 0.05). And the last group of zumba and belly dance there was a significant increase (p < 0.05). But from the two sample groups, there was not many differences in the increasement of zumba and belly dance. Conclusion: zumba and belly dance improve VO2max, body mass index, and body fat percentage significantly. But there was no significant difference from zumba and belly dance, so both groups can be used as the variety in exercises to increase VO2max, body mass index and body fat percentage. text |
