Eco-printing or eco-dyeing is a contemporary application of the natural dyeing tradition. Eco-printing is one of the textile processing techniques that are included in suistainable textile because the manufacturing process does not produce toxic waste. The purpose of this study is to develop eco print techniques on cotton fabrics and explore various forms and motifs using eco print techniques. The method used was an exploratory description involves the exploration of materials such as linen polyester cotton, polyester cotton, calico, ATBM cotton, thick ATBM cotton, and Dobi cotton. The coloring objects used include teak leaves, breadfruit leaves, manga leaves, cassava leaves, avocado leaves, and rose leaves. Eco-printing techniques include steaming, boiling, and pounding techniques. Exploration results show that ATBM fabric has the best absorption, coloring objects that leave traces of the most obvious colors and shapes are cassava leaves and teak leaves. The technique that leaves the clearest trace is the pounding technique. The product of this exploration is a fashion accessory in the form of bag. . text |
