Description
Summary:The beach has a boundary line between land and sea which position can be moved due to tides and abrasion. One of the regions in Indonesia where significant shoreline changes occurred on the coast of Rawaurip Village, Bendungan, Pangenan, Ender, Kalipasung, up to Gebang Kulon, Kabupaten Cirebon, West Java. Behind this shoreline there are several salt ponds and some facilities belonging to residents that will be affected if abrasion occurs. In addition, there are existing structures that need to be analyzed for their effect on changes in the shoreline. To overcome the problem of abrasion that occurs, it is necessary to plan a coastal protection structure. Annual modeling is carried out along with the increase in the existing structure and 10-year modeling to predict shoreline changes using the Nearshore Evolution Modeling System (NEMOS) module contained in the Coastal Engineering Design and Analysis System (CEDAS) program. In this module there are several submodules which are related to each other. From the annual modeling it was found that the existing structures on the coast of Rawaurip, Bendungan, Pangenan and Ender Village can protect the beach behind the structure by sedimentation. In the other hand, erosion occurred on the coast of Kalipasung and Gebang Kulon Village, so that structural planning was carried out in the Village. Structural planning is done by modeling several alternatives coastal protection, namely the groin, breakwater, and revetment. The results obtained from the appropriate coastal protection structure are breakwaters placed 148 m from the coastline with 7 units, the distance between breakwater 17 m, and length 225 m. The breakwater structure consists of a armor layer, filter layer, and core layer composed of quarrystones of different sizes.
