Summary: | The oil and gas industry are not in a good phase, especially when a crisis occurred in 2014 which pushed oil prices to their lowest point in the last 10 years.
This condition has made the oil and gas industry sluggish and reduced investment. With reduced investment in the industry, this also results in a reduction in staff in oil and gas companies. This also changed the staffing system, where previously the industry was a dense industry in terms of staffing, becoming a lean organization
With changing organizational structures, efficiency and effectiveness are the keys to an organization's success. Therefore, employee development is a very important factor, not least for One Co. in Indonesia. However, from this side it can be seen that what the company is doing is not good and there are still issues. From the results of the performance evaluation, compared to the costs of training and employee development, the results are not directly proportional. This confirms that the training provided so far has not been seen in their performance.
Departing from this, One.co's corporate training program was analyzed through Interview and FGD using 5 steps of training by Dessler, 2003. With this analysis, it was found that there was indeed a gap between current conditions and desired goals. This is mostly due to the wrong system, and management does not do needs analysis.
It was further identified that there are 2 (two) foundations of knowledge that employees must have at One.co. This is obtained from the need analysis done by management. For the operations department, work safety training is crucial and important, because the oil and gas industry is highly upholding the value of work safety. Furthermore, for all employees, communication training will be given, bearing in mind that in Indonesia this industry is an industry with many regulations and dealing with stakeholders is an absolute must for all employees, from this it was decided to implement communication training for all One.co. Employees
The program will be implemented in 2020, with a period of 6-8 months. Which is done simultaneously and sporadically to the company and all employees. In order to ensure that training is directly beneficial for employees, the training method uses practical activities and speakers who understand the substance and are field practitioners. |
