In a hurry to become digital, organizations have undertaken multiple projects that try to leverage new technologies and platforms; however very few have clearly defined their long-term strategy. As a result, they risk building an environment of disparate parts that don't scale or integrate well. A traditional IT model is no longer sustainable for companies that want to remain competitive and to solve for the challenges discussed. Investing in technology had seen to provide key capabilities that make the IT in the driver’s seat, to be the orchestrator services among other department. To better serve the organization and clients and for business to continue to increase productivity, it is important to understand which technology investments might allow for cost reduction and efficient use of resources. Continuing to fund these strategic technologies during an economic downturn is vital to organizations. It is predicted that in coming years IT resources will only be available online. More and more organizations are looking at operating smarter businesses by investigating technologies such as cloud computing, virtualization and green IT to find ways to cut costs and increase efficiencies. As x86 servers continue to get more powerful with ever-increasing CPU and memories densities, these multicore CPUs are now powerful enough to handle compute and store workload together on a common virtualized platform. This gave rise to Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, commonly called HCI. The objective of this research is to examine how is the business strategy for HCI business unit in Indonesia and also to formulate and recommend on how to enhance or leverage their current market situation related to the goals of cloud journey. text
