According to national statistical more than 93% of the population in Indonesia still watch television as a medium of entertainment or information. This fact is reinforced by data from Nielsen Indonesia's survey results in 11 major cities, which says there are still 56 million television viewers. This number is still far greater than social media users. Currently the average social media user spends more than 3.5 hours per day while television viewers spend almost 5 hours per day. On the industrial side, television companies in Indonesia, which reached 20 companies that use the free network or Free To Air (FTA) struggling with competition to get the number of viewers, as well as outsmart the high cost of production of a television program. The existence of rules in cooperation with regional companies in accordance with the mandate of the Broadcasting Law No. 32 of 2002, adds to the burden of the television industry to be able to develop the industry equally, both in business processes and workforce development. This law regulates that national television companies must network with local television (network broadcast system = SSJ), by owning a regional company or just cooperating. This law also regulates the obligation of national television to load 10 percent of shows with local content. Unfortunately, the cost of producing one program is not cheap, making national television companies must find the right strategy in producing shows with local content. So far, not all National Television Companies have complied with broadcasting regulation 32. of a number of those who have implemented it, generally produce news shows, because of lower production costs. News television companies face their own problems because they are only able to manage a limited number of viewers compared to entertainment television, but on the other hand play a greater role in producing programs that have a positive impact on their audience. One of them faced by Inewstv Medan. Researchers try to photograph how the news program production system is produced, whether it is in accordance with quality standards such as journalism and other rules and what are the impacts on business processes. The research methodology was carried out in various ways, one of which was through monitoring conducted in the period from October to December 2018. Evaluations of the news production system were then compared with news production standards and the rules of television journalism. Survey and interview of news production practitioners become the benchmark achieved. To measure managerial performance using one of the rules in Six Sigma, namely: DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control). Through the DMAIC evaluation, Inewstv Medan will undergo an ideal business process that can be used as a reference for other bureaus at Inewstv. Re-checking whether the production process and business are running according to standards, often happens in a fairly large company. This research is expected to be proof that the re-examination of business processes at the very upstream part is the key to running a good managerial system, because it is impossible to solve large problems in the company if small problems are still left. text
