AGILE PROJECT MANAGEMENT: IMPLEMENTATION OF AGILE WORKING SYSTEM IN BANK DAYA USAHA SHARIA

Challenges in banking industry today is very tight, due to similar product and services offered to market and also appear of competitor from other industry which are internet and telecommunication industry as startup company. In addition to competition in banking industry as mention before, there is digitalization in banking industry and get in in ASEAN countries included Indonesia. Digitalization encompass product development and banking transactions. Digitalization push by utilization of hand phone as transaction media that experiencing fast improvement. For instance, Indonesia and Vietnam experiencing sevenfold (7 times) increasing utilization of hand phone as media digital banking transaction for period 2011 until 2014. (McKinsey, 2015) Bank Daya Usaha Sharia as one of player in banking industry, directly intersect with two (2) of phenomenon as explain above. Accordingly, Bank Daya Usaha Sharia have aspiration for 2019, which is Build Sharia Digital Ecosystem for Unbanked. Objectives of this aspiration is to encounter challenges at banking industry at current moment. However, Bank Daya Usaha Sharia at current moment also have treat, which is slow to access or penetrate the market for product and process enhancement in existing business and entering new business. Agile Project Management as one of working system tools for managing project seen capable to respond organization needs to minimize of treat, which is slow to access or penetrate the market. Agile Project Management selected as working system with consideration, this working system empirical proven as working system that can change speed of organization to access or penetrate the market. Objectives of this research are to find out working unit in Bank Daya Usaha Sharia that have possibilities to implementation Agile Project Management and what kind of Agile Methodology that appropriate and also to find out what kind of factors that would impacted at implementation of Agile Project Management. This research using qualitative research methodology, which is interview. Interview conducted for eight (8) participants from four (4) working unit which is Internal Audit, Human Capital, Business Risk & Development and Business Planning. Approach for determining Agile Methodology using project characteristic diagram, project strategy analysis and mind mapping all factors that impacted to implementation of Agile Project Management. Interview result and analysis on interview result, there are the conclusions: 1. Working unit that possible to implement Agile Project Management, which are Human Capital, Business Risk & Development and Business Planning with Agile Methodology SCRUM. Internal Audit more appropriate to implement traditional project management. 2. Factors that possible impacted on implementation of Agile Project Management, such as requirement, goals, solutions, team members, collaboration, directions, adapt to change, empowerment, agile mindset and organization drive. While reason why Bank Daya Usaha Sharia selected Agile Project Management, as working system are competition, investment and best practice.
