Description
Summary:Knowledge is a critical organizational resource that provides sustainable competitive advantage. One of the fundamental elements that contribute towards organizational sustainable competitive advantage is the ability of the organizations and individuals to share knowledge among everyone, mainly organizational knowledge. Knowledge sharing is essential in knowledge management because those who work in an organization or a company may not have knowledge related to the work they do, so they need others to provide assistance to them, especially companies who employ temporary workers, such as interns and freelancers. As in PT. Sinarmedia Utama, the Corporate Human Resources unit employs around total 50 temporary workers called as interns and freelancers to help projects owned by Corporate Human Resources PT. Sinarmedia Utama. Both of them come to Corporate Human Resources of PT. Sinarmedia Utama with lack of knowledge and experience related to the work they will do during the internship period. Therefore, needs a comprehensive knowledge management system to support the occurrence of an effective knowledge sharing among the organization and interns or freelancers. This research is focused on giving the best knowledge management system for temporary workers in Corporate Human Resources of PT. Sinarmedia Utama. This is done by using a knowledge management approach consisting of four stages, which are determining the knowledge management objectives, identifying the required knowledge, identifying the type of knowledge, and define the knowledge management major components (people, process, and technology) needed in every knowledge management process. All of these processes are finalized using SECI to know the flow of the knowledge sharing. In the end, both the interns and the freelancers develop more knowledge through the socialization process because the work done are tends to be unique and contextual. The implementation of the knowledge management system and SECI is done in about seven months. The plan is begun by present and discuss about the plan with the HR Manager and the Learning Specialist. In the end of the plan, there will be evaluation to give feedbacks to improve the implemented plan.
