Summary: | The building construction industry in Indonesia is rather a cut-throat market. Maintaining consistency in serving prime services to the customers while also gaining profit is a difficult task to fulfill. To achieve that, PT Total Bangun Persada Tbk management decided to start an initiative and launched a program called Construction Integrated System (CIS) in mid-2017. The program itself makes a drastic change in terms of technological approach, people, and the key touch point of the business process itself. CIS implementation is divided into 5 (five) level based on the department involved in the business process.
Research will be done using both quantitative and qualitative method. Quantitative data will be gathered through interview, while qualitative through questionnaire distribution. Interview being done to 11 PT Total’s employee, both from the Head Office and Projects. While for the questionnaire is being distributed to 30 of PT Total’s project employees. The main objective of this final project/thesis is to evaluate change management effort delivered on Construction Integrated System (CIS) Level 3 using Jeff Hiatt’s ADKAR change management framework (as its qualitative method), predict its success using Boston Consulting Group (BCG)’s DICE framework (as its quantitative method), and provide improvement recommendation based on both evaluation and prediction result.
This research found that each change management effort that being delivered by PT Total Bangun Persada Tbk was in line with Jeff Hiatt’s ADKAR change management framework. All in-building the Awareness, stimulating the Desire, providing the Knowledge, turning knowledge into Abilities, and sustaining the change initiative through reinforcement program. CIS Level 3 DICE score is 13.18. Therefore, while still in the win zone and likely to succeed, this change initiative faces some risk. It is recommended to take some action to improve the DICE score to 13 and below especially for CIS level 4 implementation in the future. |
