Summary: | Hydroponics is one of the modern methods of farming that is widely used by the
society. However, hydroponic practitioners generally still use manual methods in optimizing
nutritional parameters in hydroponic liquids so it requires a lot of time and energy. Therefore,
a precision hydroponic nutrition management system was developed. The developed system
consists of five subsystems, namely the sensor subsystem, the control and data processing
subsystem, the actuator subsystem, the communication subsystem, and the user interface
subsystem. This final project document specifically aims for hardware design of the system,
especially in the sensor subsystem and control of sensors in this precision hydroponic nutrition
management system. The program source code was made using Arduino IDE and then
uploaded to the microcontroller. Sensor components are installed on the microcontroller
according to their respective functions. This system is then tested to see whether all subsystems
are running well or not, then tested using plants in real conditions. The sensor subsystem has
succeeded in detecting all parameters of the hydroponic growing media, while the control
subsystem has managed to process the data reading of the parameter values for further use as
a basis for instructions for the actuator subsystem in hydroponic nutrition management and the
data is also displayed to users through the communication and the user interface subsystems. |
