Description
Summary:Fundus imaging plays an important role to analyze a person's eye health, it helps to diagnose of fundal abnormalities such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. In Indonesia, blindness due to visual impairment reaches 1.67% which makes this a social problem. Management of visual impairment is still constrained because of the limited availability of health facilities and ophthalmic medical personnel. The eye examination of the retina is carried out using an ophthalmoscope device, which has a price in the range of tens to hundreds of millions of rupiah, not including the cost of maintenance and shipping. In this final project, the design of an early detection device for diabetic retinopathy uses a fundus lens to acquire the image of the retina, by applying the principles of an ophthalmoscope. The early detection device development utilizes the 20 D fundus lens and smartphone, in nonmydriatic condition. The design of this device also applies the portable principle so that it can improve the accessibility of early detection of fundal abnormalities, with virtual reality shaped designs with dimensions of 13 cm (w) x 21 cm (l) x 11 cm (h). The results obtained in the form of a retinal image that includes blood vessels and optical disks, with a resolution of 540 x 690.
