The increasing enthusiasm of the people of West Java for achievement sports and especially athletic in Bandung, has encouraged the PASI Provincial Administrators of West Java and Koni West Java to build an Fasilitas Pelatihan Olahraga Atletik dan Olahraga Masyarakat in Gedebage. Users of this facility are Pemusatan Latihan Daerah (Pelatda) athletes and also West Java athletic clubs, especially Bandung. The site is located in the southern part of Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium which is also an area for sports facilities in accordance with Bandung City Regulation. This project has the main objective to support the improvement of achievement and socialization for the people of West Java for the development of mothers of all sports, which is athletics. Through this facility and program it is hoped that the growth of athletic sporting events which have 46 matches. This athletic facility is designed to achieve international athletic federation standards, namely the IAAF. In addition to athletic facilities development, the project also has supporting facilities consisting of multipurpose field that can be used by the general public and Sports Clubs. This multipurpose field facilitates basketball, volleyball, badminton and martial arts sports as well as events that require large spaces. This project also facilitates accommodation for athletes who are conducting intensive training. This facility has a land area of 6 hectares with a main building area of 8300 m2 and accommodation buildings of 2500 m2. This facility physically consists of three buildings, namely an athletic field, a multipurpose building, and an inn building. The athletic field, which complies with IAAF standards, has 8 running tracks with an additional 2 tracks for sprint running. There are also facilities for other athletic numbers such as long jump, pole vault, shot put, and javelin. The multipurpose building in the athletic training complex is a two-story building placed between the athletic field and the inn building. The shape of the building is produced from the form of a curved roof like a wave to give a dynamic impression like sports activities. The roof of the building uses a long-span frame truss structure. The inn building facilitates 64 rooms which each room can accommodate two people.
