Summary: | Started as a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company, Nabati Group has grown its business to several business units and in international scale, therefore there is a change within its business strategy as well. With an international scope of business, Nabati Group already had a policy for international assignment matter. Unfortunately, the current policy provides only the general matters which caused a lot of case by case decision to be specific. This has led the Company to be in a business loss both financially and strategically. Therefore, the Company needs to establish a standard or policy which could encompass all countries’ operations, especially in the international assignment area. Author conducted qualitative methods for this research. From literature review of International Human Resource Management and the evaluation of the current policy regarding the international assignment in Nabati Group, it can be concluded that there is a gap between the policy and the current business needs. Author also conducted interviews with several key positions related to the international assignment and policy formulation. Therefore, the policy needs to be updated in order to accommodate the needs. Based on the gap identification, the recommendation is to update the current policy to be as comprehensive as possible. An end-to-end process needs to be stated in the policy in order to diminish the multi interpretation for both Company and employee in terms of rights and obligation of each party. |
