ANALYSIS OF LIQUIFACTION EVENTS IN OTTAWA SANND USING THE SHAKING TABLE TEST METHOD
Liquifaction is a phenomenon where the soil loses its layer strength to withstand the load so that the soil layer behaves like a liquid, which in nature is generally caused by an earthquake or natural vibration. Liquifaction occurs when waves traveling through the ground cause each individual grain...

Liquifaction occurs when waves traveling through the ground cause each individual grain of the soil change position so that it causes a decrease in the volume of the soil mass because each soil particle is denser and forms a smaller volume than before. This study examines the liquefaction process that occurs in a soil system with a saturated state by using the shaking table tes method. Shaking table test itself is a testing method that utilizes interference or vibration (frequency) from outside of the system to be tested on the system. In this research, the method tested onOttawa Sand using the shaking table test to observe the liquefaction processs on the sand. Some of the factors observed in this study are the frequency and time response of the process. The frequency and time data are translated using fourier transforms so that information from the ground response can be analyzed In this study, a test was conducted on the Ottawa Sand using a shaking table test to observe the liquefaction in text |
