THERMAL EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENT OF SMALL MODULAR REACTOR ANALYSIS
Renewable energy sources are currently the choice for all countries in terms of reducing CO2 emissions to produce fossil fuel electricity. This renewable energy has resources that are already available from nature, but the shortage is not available at all times (intermittent). In this case, energy i...

This renewable energy has resources that are already available from nature, but the shortage is not available at all times (intermittent). In this case, energy is needed that can be used as a base load to meet the daily needs of the community. One of the energy that produces large and environmentally friendly energy is nuclear energy. In one reactor unit, nuclear energy can produce power in MegaWatts by nuclear fission. The thing that caused the controversy about the use of this energy was radioactive, which made the community still not agree with the use of this energy. This can be prevented by research that has recently been carried out by many developed countries, one of which is small modular reactor. Small modular reactor has a higher level of safety with designs designed to prevent accident from happening. The problem that often arises is the level of energy thermal efficiency is very low, therefore many scientis try to figure out the innovation to raise thermal efficiency by widening T-s diagram. This study shows how to raise thermal efficiency by solar tower and photovoltaic. The results illustrate the efficiency obtained at a hybrid reactor-photovoltaic power plant of 40.35% with a 102MW power output. text |
