This is caused by the incapability of the river body to contain the rainfall. The watershed which consists of rice fields, plantation, forest, and habitation of civils caused the surface flow to increase. The flood which occurs in Cibinuangeun’s irrigation area results in failure of harvesting of the 2000-hectare paddy fields along the left and right side of the river. This flood control planning along the Cibinuangeun river segment takes source from Cibereum rain station for the Hydrological analysis which inflicts flood discharge of 196 m3/s by Snyder method of repetitive period time of 25 years. The flood water level along the river is analyzed by HEC-RAS 5.7 software in order to derive structural solution of this flood control planning, which is the construction of canal bypass and levee. Bypass canal is designed in shape of trapezium with five meter in height and 2800 meters in length towards the beach. Levee is built along the river study location with 3.6 meters height and a total length of 2500 meters of the river’s right and left side. Bypass canal reduces the flood discharge in the main river by 70%, whilst the levee increases the capacity of river with the result of flood water level no longer being above the river level. text
