Local chicken have hight protein but low cholesterol. There are problems in developing local chicken production that high cost of feed reach up to 70% from cost production and low performance of local chicken. To improve local chicken performance it can be done by increase of local feed ingredients. Many local chicken farmer make alternative feed from insect because is a natural feed of many livestock and has an amino acid, produce low greenhouse gas emissions, and requires a small area of land to produce biomass in large quantities. BSF (Hermetia illucens) is an insect that has protein content of 40% and 30% fat and it has ability to produce large amounts of biomass. This study aims to determine (1) the differences in BSF larvae feed and commercial feed to the complete proximate content (water, ash, protein, fiber, fat, carbohydrate, and energy) and (2) local chicken (Gallus domesticus) growth rate in Final Body Weight (FBW), Daily Feed Intake (DFI), Daily Weight Gain (DWG), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), Approximate Digestibility (AD), Efficiency of Conversion Inggested (ECI). In this study, local chicken type Arabic were cultivated for 29 days by treating 40% commercial feed + 60% BSF (PM) feed and 100% commercial feed (PK), and chicken growth was analyzed by t-test statistics (T test, ? = 0.05). The result that (1) The proximate content of BSF larvae has a higher percentage in water, protein, fat, and energy content compared to chicken feed requirements. (2) The treatment of PK and PM of local chicken (Gallus domesticus) towards DFI, DWG, FCR, AD, and ECI no different. text
