Mega Pratiwi, Hilda Indonesia Final Project Effect of Tobaco (Nicotiana tabacum) Leaf Extract Concentration on Leaf’s GA3 content and Fertility of Grobogan, Devon 2, and Wilis Soybean (Glycine max L.) INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/46950 Tobacco in Indonesia is still concentrated in the cigarette industry. The government has issued a policy regarding efforts to develop the diversification of tobacco products. One of the diversified products of tobacco is an extract. Soybean is the most important strategic crop after rice and corn in the food crop sector. Soybean consumption by the Indonesian people will certainly continue to increase every year. However, domestic soybean production is only able to meet around 65.61% of domestic consumption. Research on the use of tobacco extracts for the cultivation of soybean plants needs to be done considering that both are strategic plants in each sector that still have major obstacles in the utilization process. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of spraying tobacco extract with various concentrations on three soybean varieties. This research is on a field scale and uses a 4x3 factorial design and split plot design (RBD). The experimental unit used beds (plots for each combination of treatments) with a size of 1.5 x 1 m and the distance between the plots was ± 25 cm. There were 12 treatment combinations that were repeated 3 times so that there were 36 plots. Treatment factors for tobacco extract (T) consist of: T1 (without tobacco extract); T2 (tobacco extract concentration of 1 mL / L water); T3 (tobacco extract concentration of 2 mL / L water), and T4 (tobacco extract concentration of 3 mL / L water). Variety treatment factor (V) consisted of: V1 (Grobogan variety), V2 (Devon 2 variety), and V3 (Wilis variety). The treatment of tobacco extract increases the number of flowers with the best concentration of 3 mL / L. the higher the concentration of tobacco extract, the higher the number of flowers. This is thought to be due to the influence of the phytohormone content of the Gibberellins of the GA3 type which is quite high in tobacco extracts. The treatment of tobacco extract increased the number of pods, number of seeds and weight of seeds in Grobogan and Devon 2 varieties with the best concentration of 1-2 mL / L. In Wilis variety, tobacco extracts decreased the number of pods, number of seeds and weight of seeds. text
