Description
Summary:The main function of this building is for worship activities of moslem ummah. The project location is on Jalan Alun-Alun Selatan Vida Bekasi Bumipala, Padurenan, Mustikajaya, Bekasi City. The case of design is not a real project. This project was assumed initiated by PT Gunas Land as the developer of Vida Bekasi. Everyday, the mosque is used by residents of Vida Bekasi and also residents around the Padurenan and Bantargebang villages. The main idea of the design is an attempt to explore the essential values of mosque architecture related to spiritualism and the "sacredness" of the worship space. The design concept is "Mosque as embodiment of Islamic values." The realization of the basic concept is further reviewed by the function, user and site approach. Some design issues raised are the value of Islamic architecture, and potential views and buffers. The issue of the value of Islamic spirit is answered by the concept of mass and inner space which also involves the potential of view from the site, while the issue of buffering mosque buildings with markets is answered by the concept of outer space.
