The logical consequence for Indonesia was to form a new baseline in the northern part of Indonesia. The changes were stated into PP No. 37 of the 2008 revision of PP Np. 38 of 2002, one of which added a two-point insert in the south of Java. In this study, the addition will be examined from nonphysical, physical, and geostrategic aspects. The nonphysical aspect study shows an indication of the use of the WGS-72 datum coordinates without the process of transformation or updating the data to the WGS-84 datum. The results of the physical aspect study indicate that there is a need for improvement in the management and maintenance of the reference points and the updating of their position values to create integrated data and information. Geostrategic studies show that the NKRI government has taken a strategic step by adding two insertion basepoints in the south of Java Island and drawing a baseline of more than 100 nautical miles in the north of NKRI bordering Sipadan Island and Ligitan Island. However, this study found the most optimal policy with a recommendation to add just one basepoint in the segment. text
