Regional landfill is an alternative solution for cities that have limited land and location for landfill. To support regional landfill operations, Local Governments that utilize regional landfill need to prepare policies and strategies to optimize waste management services in their area. The Lulut Nambo Regional Landfill is planned to serve waste from Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Depok City, and South Tangerang City. The purpose of this study is to analyze various alternative policy scenarios to optimize waste management services and determine their effects on regional landfill operations. The policy analysis method used is a simulation model with a dynamic system approach. The simulation is conducted from 2020 to 2045. There are three scenarios, namely scenario for the optimization of existing processing facilities, scenario that is based on local waste management policies and strategies in each regency/city, and scenario if the target of 30% waste reduction is achieved. The simulation results of the three scenarios show that the waste transported from each regency/city will exceed the maximum waste input to Nambo regional landfill. Therefore, the local government still needs to provide new local landfill. In addition, this simulation also shows that the higher waste reduction activities, the total land area needed for waste management activities will be less. However, to achieve this, it requires greater waste management costs. text |
