Summary: | Within current industry situation, digital product has come and disrupt every conventional player. Since mobile smartphone technology and internet technology development, smartphone technology developed open API infrastructure which allowed individual or company develop mobile apps and publish it in their application store like Play store for Android and App Store for Apple smartphone, because it’s open store people could freely offer their mobile application from users worldwide and generate large number of revenue from it. With this growing rapidly mobile application arise startup company like Uber and AirBnB, disrupt conventional taxi and hotel industry.
Disruption also happen within telecommunication industry, Over the Top (OTT) digital service provider like Whatsapp, LINE and Telegram disrupt conventional global telecommunication company like AT&T, Vodavone, NTT. Same situation also happened in Indonesia, OTT digital service provider develop IP based communication service like chat application, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) and application video call without consume large number of phone credit. Because of this, customer change over to use OTT instead of conventional communication service, lately makes telecommunication company like TELKOM loss large number of their revenue.
Facing this situation TELKOM aware they should transform to meet digital industry requirement, company should identify the right digital transformation strategy and determined the challenge to accomplished digital transformation goals. Also, TELKOM should identify potential digital capability which TELKOM should developed to compete within the market. |
