INOCULATION MODEL OF GAHARU PLANTATION WITH BIOECONOMIC APPROACHES (CASE STUDY: COMMUNITY FOREST IN MEKARPAWITAN VILLAGE, PASEH SUB DISTRICT, BANDUNG REGENCY)

Agarwood is the resinous wood which has high value. Agarwood producer tree has been cultivated in Indonesia since 1990 for conservation and business to increase income for farmers. One of the plantation locations is in Mekarpawitan Village, Paseh on the community-owned land since 2010. Inoculatio...

Agarwood producer tree has been cultivated in Indonesia since 1990 for conservation and business to increase income for farmers. One of the plantation locations is in Mekarpawitan Village, Paseh on the community-owned land since 2010. Inoculation is an important part to stimulate the formation of agarwood (resinous wood). The research’s aims are to determine the appropriate inoculation treatment to be applied to agarwood trees, conduct a simulation of the plantation model to determine the production of agarwood and determine the time of harvest and efforts that can provide optimal benefits for sustainable plantation. Inoculation experiment using complete random design with factorial was conducted to know the combination of inoculation treatments suitable for stimulating agarwood growth between Fusarium sp., agarwood trees and inoculation methods. Production was estimated by measuring the extent of agarwood formation and then the volume is projected to find out the yield in the future. The biological condition of agarwood is seen from how the agarwood-producing trees receive treatment and produce resinous wood. Bioeconomics is used as a decision-making tool for the plantation process to be sustainable by considering environmental values (erosion rates and microclimate regulators) of forest areas and taking into account the biological conditions of agarwood-producing trees. The simulations are carried out with differences in the discount factor (DF), the number of inoculation holes and the number of trees. The 2 cc inoculation treatment and 15 holes / tree inoculation obtained the highest agarwood formation score (0.782 cm2 / month). Bioeconomic analysis shows that plantation is sustainable only by inoculating 5, 15 and 15 hole trees. Until the end of the projection (43rd month), the NPV value with 7% DF is Rp. 42,983,894, - and Rp.121,246,138, with DF 17.5% using 15 inoculated holes / trees. text
