To investigate mechanical behaviour of lightweight concrete, experimental study cotain compression, splitting tensile, direct tensile, elastic modulus, Poisson\'s ratio, modulus of repture, abration, and scanning electron microscopy tests has been done with four gap grade and a continous grade concrete mixs for 12.5 mm (LWCA) and 9.5 mm (LWCB) maximum aggregate diameter respectively. Artificial lightweight coarse aggregate (alwa) that made in General Work Department Cilacap and natural fine aggregate from Galunggung mountain were used. Maximum compressive strength at 28 days age was reached by continous grade LWCB mix, that is 45.87 MPa, but for LWCA mix the maximum compressive strength was reached by 4.75 - 6.3 mm gap grade aggregate concrete mix, that is 43.86 MPa, with 1776.57 - 1927.03 kgflm3 density. Other mechanical properties were 15728 - 19950 MPa elastic modulus, 2.41 - 3.56 MPa splitting tensile strength, 0.43 - 0.61 MPa direct tensile strength, 3.27 - 4.43 MPa modulus of repture, 0.12 - 0.14 Poisson\'s ratio, 0.071 - 0.332 % abrations, and 1.04 - 1.24 starin ductility ratio. Initial stress - strain curve was linier and change to parabolic when load increase with strain related to peak load was 0.004 - 0.007. After peak load, the stress dropped and speciment got brittle failure. Generally crack propagation was from void, but interface crack appeared in some place. text
