INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/47085 Indonesia is located on the impact area of Indo-Australia plate, Eurasia plate, and Pacific plate. Furthermore, Indonesia is part of Pacific Ring of Fire. Sulawesi Island is bypassed by 48 fault with the most active fault is Palu-Koro fault that bypassed Palu Bay from north to south. It makes this area is susceptible of earthquake and tsunami. Therefore, planning and preliminary design for tsunami protection will be conducted here based on data of Palu Bay Tsunami 2018. Palu Bay will be divided into 8 area that is Area A up to Area H. If the area is suitable for mangrove planting, than estimation for mimum forest width and tsunami inundation level after forest will be done. If the area is not suitable for mangrove planting, than tsunami inundation level on the shoreline will be used for estimating tsunami forces and tsunami dike height. Then the stability of the dike will be calculated. Dike is safe from sliding if the safety factor ?1,2 and the dike is safe from tumbling if the safety factor is ?1,5. text |
